Cocktail Ideas for Your Next Party

Everyone, or at least, nearly everyone, enjoys cocktails. Many of us associate cocktails with pleasant times. Generally speaking, most people who drink cocktails, like to save them for special occasions, and it is this which helps to make them as special as they are. Let’s face it, there is just something “classy” about cocktails. In fact, there are many people who would choose a nice cocktail rather than a glass of fine wine.

One of the greatest things about cocktails is also the fact that there is virtually no limit to what you can make. Yes, we’ve all heard of Bloody Mary’s; Tequila Sunrises, and a number of other common cocktails, but there countless lesser know cocktails out there that will well and truly impress the guests at your next party.

If you are hosting a party at your home, then you may want to consider serving  cocktails which you can prepare in large batches, or you could try to find someone who is knowledgeable about cocktails, and get them to act as your cocktail maker on the big day.

On the other hand, if your party is going to be held at a particular venue that caters for parties, then you should be able to make arrangements for your cocktail requirements. If it is a big well-established venue, they should be able to make a massive variety of cocktails on demand, where guests can simply order any cocktail on the menu.

However, most cocktail menus only feature the better know cocktails, so if you would like to surprise your guests with cocktails most of them will never have heard of, then you should discuss this with the people at the venue when you make your booking or reservation.

Cocktails such as a Pear Vanilla Martini, or an Apple Bourbon Bellini, are amazing, and they will definitely get your guests talking, but they are certainly not the sort of cocktails you will often see on menus. Another fantastic cocktail which most people will never have heard of is a Watermelon Vodka Granita.

Watermelon Vodka Granita is made with pureed watermelon; some lime juice; some finely chopped mint leaves, and some watermelon vodka, although plain vodka also works just as well. Once all the ingredients have been mixed together, the mixture is poured into a large bowl, and then placed in the freezer.

Then you are ready to serve, you remove the now frozen cocktail mixture and using a fork or some other suitable utensil, you shave the frozen cocktail mix into wine glasses and you garnish with some fresh mint leaves – delicious; refreshing, and a real conversation starter.
